Recitals

The goal (not guarantee) is to have 2 recital dates a year: late Fall & Spring.  Participation in Recitals is not mandatory but are strongly suggested.  Recitals allow us to share our music with others in a more formal, yet fun way.  They stretch us past our comfort zone & help us to see that we CAN "perform" in front of others & succeed whether we play perfectly or not.

Lessons

Lessons are scheduled once a week at a designated time slot.  For occasional scheduling conflicts, please text or call me at least a day ahead.  BEWARE...you will be charged for lessons missed last minute.  Exceptions?  Sudden illness or emergency.  Vacations & holidays need to be scheduled with me in ADVANCE.  If you are gone for more than 4 weeks, your time slot will become available to others.  HOLDING FEE = $25 per 4 weeks gone.  Online Lessons are available but not recommended for the long term.

Practice & Parents Role

Piano lessons can be a lonely activity at first.  Parents who come to the lesson & practice/oversee students early in the week, tend to boost the FUN factor & successfulness of the young student's effort.  Please encourage students to play their lessons thoroughly & accurately as you help them to review their assignment.  Students should practice a little bit EVERYDAY and especially within 24 hours of the last lesson so retention of knowledge gained sticks!  Songs should be played several times in a row each day.  Practice a handful....5 fingers=5 times in a row for beginners.

Online Lessons are available (but not recommended for long term)

Online lessons require that a Student has:

  • Zoom video calling software downloaded to laptop, tablet or phone
  • A stool or table next to the piano to place this device on (picture shows needed view)
  • Lesson materials (books & pencil)
  • Online can also be used occasionally when needed

Payment

In person per week = $25 per lesson

Virtual per week = $27 per lesson

My preference is to be paid 4 weeks in advance but I'm open to bi-weekly or weekly payments as long as you don't fall behind.  Cash, check or online App (PayPal, Apple Pay, Pay It Now) accepted.

All Music teaching materials can be purchased from me or wherever you choose as needed.
